Zuko, Katara, and Lin Beifong vs Mako, Korra, and Bolin.
(In their current state. I bet even though Zuko and Katara are older they can kick ass)
Just random things that come to mind.
So, in A:TLA, each book was named after the element that Aang had to master. But Korra already mastered Earth, Fire, and Water. (Even though her progress with air is zilch, so I’m wondering why there is a season finale). My thoughts are that the next two books will be on the subsidiary bending abilities. Like Metal and Lightning. But we’ll see.
Why is Katara not kicking ass in this show? I want to see her guide Korra more or at least blood-bend someone to help the gang out. It’s getting to be frustrating. And didn’t she have more kids with Aang? I want to see them. I WANT THEM ALL TO APPEAR. Same goes for Zuko. Fucker, go fire bend Amon awayyyyy.
And a random tidbit. I always wanted LOK to experiment with multi-benders. Most people can only bend one element, and the Avatar can bend all four. And we’re seeing (inter-racial?) mixed marriages now. Which is how Mako and Bolin are related but one bends fire and the other earth, respectively. Why can’t someone be like a bi-bender or tri-bender and bend more than one? But only the Avatar can master all four? That way there is a check on multi-bender’s abilities. So that even though they can bend multiple elements their bending is not as powerful as solo-bender. I don’t know. Just a thought.
1. Tarlok is Amon.
At the end of the last episode many exclaim the way Tarlok approached Korra after he knocked her out is similar to the way Amon approached Korra in earlier episodes. Also, the fact that Tarlok is “doing exactly what Amon says benders are doing” seems to be too…perfect. What I came up with is that Tarlok is Amon and is using fear in order to give himself more power. He plays up what Amon does and then switches back in order to take advantage of the situation. Also, my brother thinks that the Blood Bending ability is somehow possibly tied to Amon being able to take away a bender’s abilities. No one has any idea how Amon is able to do this in the first place, so it’s an open debate.
2. Tarlok and Amon are working together.
Amon had this grand idea that Tarlok vehemently opposed in principle but decided to go along with. Tarlok would essentially find a way for Amon to get what he wanted, while Tarlok would seem to be an extremist in going after the Equalists. This is all supported by the evidence above for the Tarlok is Amon theory. It seems like Tarlok is perfectly playing into Amon’s hands and things are going well for Amon. Although obviously at one point in the story they would simply double cross each other. The question is, who will be enough steps ahead in the game?
